Whole lotta nuppin going on

Sometimes an opportunity comes by that is too good to pass up.

During the holidays, I had a very brief but invigorating meeting with my wholesale supplier. I was given the opportunity to send some samples of my yarn for her to put on their stall for the Sock Summit next weekend. I didn't hesitate in agreeing, I mean, who wouldn't? Ingrid also mentioned that if she had time, she wanted to knit some samples.

Well, that was all the encouragement I needed. I pondered a few days over what I might like to make in a hurry - and the Aeolian Shouldrette sprung to mind. I knitted it in my silken thread - it was born to shine - in the Impossiblue colour. I'm not positive the vendors are allowed to sell lace yarn at at the Summit (on account of it being a Sock Summit), but here's hoping!

Anyhow the project.

Aeolian Shouldrette From Summer Knitty 09

Yarn: Knitabulous Silken Thread

Modifications: I didn't do any beads.

Comments: Another lace project that just flew through my fingers. I will be honest and say if I were to tackle another project that involved purling 9 together again, I'd probably use a yarn with some elasticity. It wasn't difficult, but I think the surface of the silk nupps is a little smoother and elongated than a wool yarn might be.

Next up, Aestlight!

How exciting! I had a feeling your little hint the other day was about Sock Summit!! I do love this Impossiblue colour, I nearly bought it from etsy the other day (in sock I think?). Looks great in this pattern! I admire your ability to p9tog!

What great news that your yarn is going to the Sock Summit - I hope it receives the recognition it deserves. The shawl is beautiful. How I wish I could say that a lace project 'just flew off my fingers' - you really underestimate the extreme knitting expertise you have.

That is just so gorgeous I wonder why I bother to attempt any lace knitting - except that maybe one day I'll produce something like this. And GREAT NEWS about the sock summit. Congratulations.

Sigh. It's just beautiful and totally deserves to go to Sock Summit. After all the shit that's gone on with Sock summit, I hope they all have a marvellous time and that yarns like yours are oohed and ahhed over and picked up!

I ditched Aestlight tonight. But I will go back. Still using your yarn though.

Wow - it's so gorgeous. Love the color! I hate nupps & every time I see a pattern with nupps, I won't knit it. Congratulations on getting your yarn into Sock Summit!
