Last Thursday, as I was sitting having coffee with DrK, getting a rundown of her awesome yarn crawl across the USA and petting all the pretties a parcel arrived in my letterbox.
It was the Madelinetosh Club package for December - three skeins of Merino DK in a colour called 'mica'. It was love at first sight. I had to cast on immediately.

Being only three skeins, I had to be judicious in my selection of what to make with it. I went for a Goodale - and I used every last skerrick of the yarn. It's only just long enough too, but what are you gonna do?
Pattern: Goodale
Yarn: 3 skeins Madelinetosh Merino DK December Neutrals - Mica
Needle: 4.00mm (but I'm a very loose knitter)
Modifications: I alternated the 3 skeins every row, but tried to mask it by doing it after the i-cord edge at the fourth stitch. The result is not invisible, but at least it's consistent.
I also ran out of yarn and only got five rows of rib at the bottom. So I couldn't do the knitted cord for the buttonhole. I just plaited the ends sewed it in.
The raglan increases are just beautiful.

And I used my beautiful Red Button that I bought in Bendigo.

And that, as they say in the classics, is the end of that.
Tomorrow I do the year of knitting roundup. I'm pleased to say that it's so much better than 2009. Yay for GAAK!

So beautiful and so fast! It's the perfect match of yarn and pattern really. You have had a good year, looking forward to seeing them all together. Personally, I'd rather forget 2010 knitting wise, bring on the new year!!
Totally gorgeous! I would have cast that color straight on, too, but I wouldn't have finished it that fast1
Oh so pretty!
wow so fast so gorgeous - a great knit indeed and I now know what I am going to knit next
