Next week, time will be on my side. 2KCBWDAY7

Every night after I tuck my kids into bed (one of my life's great pleasures - not a hint of sarcasm!) I go downstairs, make a cup of black tea, and I knit.

Sometimes 1, sometimes 4 hours later I go to bed myself.

Sometimes I knit with twitter, but mostly I don't.

I don't watch TV (except this one show. OK, maybe two shows. Three tops.)

But this week I worked three full days, drove 150km to pick up the car from the mechanics on Friday, went to the gastroenterologist, had a pathology appointment, got the house ready for inspection twice, dyed several batches of club yarn, and did my best to keep up with the obligation of Knitting and Crochet Blog Week. Which was, by the way, a really great experience. Next year I'm going to do better!

But next week there's going to be more time for knitting. Because I'm going into hospital on Tuesday to have my gallbladder out. It's keyhole surgery, only an overnighter, so nothing to be concerned about.

I've requested no visitors (except my husband and the kids), because selfishly, I want to be left in peace so I can make some headway into the Irish Coffee tunic I cast on yesterday in the La Drouguerie Recup*. Is it weird to be looking forward to a little post-operative peace?

A BIG Thank You Eskimimi for once again organising Knitting and Crochet Blog Week, it's been a lot of fun. To all newcomers who commented (or not), hi! thank you!

It was exciting to see you here - and I really enjoyed visiting lots of your new blogs. I am looking forward to reading every one later this week when I'm (hopefully) in bed resting.

My reader was big before, but now it is out of control. I'm going to have to cull some food blogs to make room for all the new knitting blogs.

*That's right, spurred on by sharing my difficulties with this yarn the other day, I bit the bullet and cast on! Have gotten past the little v in the front, about to transition to the cable and so far so good! I'm forcing myself not to overthink it, and so far it's working!

All the best for your hospital visit and hope you get some knitting done :-) Isn't it funny what we look forward to once we have had kids??? I do the same as you, I knit and blog, hardly ever watch TV these days and it leaves it free for hubby to channel surf all the news channels :-)

I wouldn't be surprised if you had that finished by the time you get home. While we're looking at silver linings, enforced rest. I hope you get lots of it. Will be thinking of you on tues xx

I've taken knitting in on my bed (in the back bit where they tuck your things) to an operation (it was with me in pre-op) to have my tubes tied before. I call that obsessive knitter. LOL. Good luck with your op.

Take it easy, girlfriend. You'll bounce back in no time, but in the meantime take it easy and enjoy the knitting. Sandra says be gentle with yourself. XX

Good luck on your surgery. My dad had his taken out last year. I hope your surgery and recovery go well. Happy knitting to you for peace and quiet.

glad you're all better now. I always take my knitting with me to the hospital when I have a baby and always laugh when I remember having to ask my very important and highly respected OB would he mind picking up my knitting needle from the floor because I wasn't allowed out of bed yet after my c/section. Ahhh the memories. Hope you enjoyed some knitting time!
