It is with huge relief that I am able to say the kingscot cardigan is finally complete.
I'd like to be able to say it was an enjoyable knit, but that wouldn't be telling the whole truth. The whole truth is this:
The cables were fun.
The shoulder shaping wasn't fun, even after I'd re-done it three times.
The setting-in of the sleeves was also done three times, and suprisingly I did my best work in this regard whilst I was inebriated.
I enjoyed the seaming.
I have no idea why the front bands are knit separately (in a vertical manner) and then sewn on. I wish I had have knit them at the same time.
The neckline pick up is perfect.
I am going to re-do the button band because it's a little wavy.
The buttonhole band is perfect too.
I don't know why this is, since they are essentially identical.
This is annoying me no end.
However, in spite of all this - I can see myself wearing it.
As a matter of fact, I can literally see myself wearing it right now!
I promise I'm going to take some pictures of me in it tomorrow. I know I say this all the time, but this time I really mean it.

wow that is so great - I have started this but put it down thinking it was not a fun knit at all - but perhaps I need a rethink
It could of been the colour - a light green that put me off
Yours is just gorgeous
GORGEOUS.

It is gorgeous! I love the colour and the cabling!
Zara! Wow, I thought it was 4ply. It's gorgeous and hurrah for a knit that you will wear!
Gorgeous cabling and a gorgeous colour. Good job!
really lovely. Great result for a mixed knitting experience.
Beautiful!
It looks amazing. I think that EZ said something about why you sew bands on cardigans, but I can't remember what it is. Certainly cold enough for a warm cardi today... Are you working full time at the moment - I might be up for a day trip next Thursday...
i was doing a quick fly-by rav check and saw "kingscot" and my head snapped!
