Chuck another shrimp on the barbie

Oh hi you! So glad you could come. Come in, come in. Can I get you a drink?

There's some nibblies over there.

And someone's just chucked another shrimp on the barbie for you.

Oh and there's a lovely barramundi just been grilled.

Wollongong Stitch and Bitch held it's third annual knitting exhibition at the weekend.

We spent a wonderful afternoon hanging it on Friday, although at times it was a bit fraught, it all kind of pulled together and found itself in the end.

We're a much awarded bunch of knitters you know.

Of course it's a matter of personal opinion, but I think that our visual merchandising skills leave the Royal Easter Show for dead.

This year we focussed on the diversity of the group. I took a portrait shot of every person who exhibited and got them to write a little something about themselves, and I mounted them on foamcore and hung their story on the walls. They brought a real human element into the show and it made the lovely women who knit at snb feel really special. It's the little details that can give you the wow factor.

Unless of course, someone brings babies!

I love how every year so far it's looked really different, and that we have been able to come up with new ideas for display and themes, and that we get such a buzz from the positive response of the public who come in and have a look.

Go knitting.

Plenty more pictures of the exhibition here.

Just doesn't look the same without fish hooks and fishing line, does it??

Looks as though it was a great show. Congratulations everyone.

That is one stunning set of pictures. Do you have a date for next year? I'd like to have advance warning of this.

Great effort! What amazing work. And yeah, it shits all over the show display.

The BBQ stuff is too funny - and clever!

I would have to say that is one of the best exhibitions I've seen in a long while ... CONGRATULATIONS!

Beautiful, beautiful work and the barbie and cheese platter knits ... they are so well done.

You girls are certainly a fabulous group.

I'm impressed.

Let me know for next year. Put me on your list or something. I'd like to support you guys by at least attending.

The exhibition looks great, you all always do a great job. Sorry I couldn't make it but I have a face that one side looks like I swallowed a football, a really good tooth infection, which started Thursday night, now I am off work the rest of the week, hopefully the strong dose of anitbiotics the dr. prescribed are going to do the trick.

I can't believe I missed this again! You'll have to let us know when next year's one is going to be.

Everything looks stunning, I *love* how you put the photo of the knitters as well -- makes a difference I think, when you can see the people behind the knits.

Love the cheese platter & all the lace knits. It's a great idea to have a write-up of the knitters - makes it more interesting. Exhibition looks great.
