Carterbah

This post is completely dedicated to RoseRed, whose prolific posts about shoes make me want to commandeer her expertise as a stylist next time I go shoe shopping.

On the weekend, I was off to watch the NRL Grand Final on my friend's infamous party deck.

I wanted to wear my new spring clothes. For that though, I needed a pair of ballet flats to go with the outfit. So, I went to the shoe shop to buy a pair of ballet flats.

So, um, I don't really know what happened, but these are the shoes I came home with.

I wore them, and received many a compliment on my great shoes. I confided in one, 'they're not the most comfortable shoes in the world' to which she replied, 'yep. Carterbah.' I thought it was a brand, and I'd never heard of it before, so I just let it slide.

Later (much later) I asked her what she called them. 'Bartercah' she said. 'No, sorry, Carterbah' (giggle, hic).

Suddenly I got it! Car to bar. A perfect description.

On an unrelated note, when we were walking the dog last evening, my daughter picked a bunch of lavender, and asked could she use the camera. Here's her result. (Cute, huh?)

What? You're leaving me?! Is it the shoes, or the NRL watching that did it?

LOVE your ballet flats (heh!) These are seriously great - I'd have a hard time walking out of the shop without them too. And carterbah is the perfect name for them too!

I envy your ability to stand upright in those shoes! I can not handle heels of any kind!!

They are gorgeous.

I agree with your friend on the shoes, that don't look to comfortable, but with some wearing in I am sure they will be. How gorgeous to write that for you in Lavendar.

Nice Shoes! My theory has always been - wear funky shoes while you can ... and deal with the consequences later. Except at the moment I'm picking out sandals based on the lowest heel height(soon back in proper heels!)
