Mock Cable Vest

I completed the aforementioned vest in Jo Sharp Alpaca Silk Georgette, and here it is finished. The plan was to wear it to WWKIP day in Darling Harbour on Saturday, but I don't think it's going to make an appearance.

Although it looks good on Maude here, it's not very flattering on knitabulous. It's a little shapeless around the waist (that'll be the absence of shaping in the pattern), and a little narrow in the shoulders. I think I'll take it back to the armpits and try again. But not straight away - I've had enough of it for now.

I've started some lace knitting, I'll try and get some pictures in daylight of this in the next few days - but like we all know time conspires against us when trying to find time to photograph for the blog, especially in winter.

To end on a positive note, I shall show you the shot in it's full context. This is my daughter's room (like the vest, it still needs a little work, but it's almost there now). I am trying to decide on new window coverings for her - the windows won't take plantation shutters, which would be my first choice, so we're thinking about curtains.

(click to see the full width - blogger has taken to arbitrary trimming of images)

What I watch Blair enjoying the most about this room are the little treasures on the shelves; like the russian dolls (today she told me the little one had run away), a white porcelain rabbit, a vase full of swishy peacock feathers, a tiny china crinoline lady, butterfly mirrors, shells and crystals. What I like is the second-hand cross stitch table cloth on the round table and that it is fun without being too childish. She is very proud of her room and sporadically even tries to keep it tidy.

This may be the most pleasant and suprising side effect of the decorating.

There's another post scheduled for midnight, so it's goodnight from me and goodnight from Blair's room too.

Blair's room is so pretty, and isn't it great that she takes pride in it (even if only mostly).

Shame about the vest not working out, but I'm sure you'll find some sort of lovely knitwear to parade on Saturday!

Oh her room looks so pretty. A girlie room without being nauseatingly pink and full of barbies.

The vest looks so gorgeous. I think it might be worth while giving it another go.

I am so sad your vest isn't 'You' friendly because it looks so fabulous on Maude!!
The room looks like it should be in one of those home decorating magazines. It's beautiful!!
