Experimental or just mental?
So I kind of had this idea for a shawl.
Loosely based on the Japanese Design here, I started with almost a full ball of black Heirloom Cashmino, and so I began using a very simple eyelet pattern and increasing for a regular triangular shawl.
When that ran out, I introduced the feather and fan pattern in the Jawoll Magic yarn, and just kept going with the increases until the ball ran out.
And then I joined the black laceweight and continued (without increases) in the 'even daintier chevron' pattern from the Red Barbara Walker stitch dictionary (the best one imo).
Block like a middle aged trophy wife's face.
Et voila! Quite pleased, not 100% - the difference in the yarn weights means that it doesn't have the most horizontal of top edges, so it slips a little on the shoulders, so next time I'll have to work on that..
I think it must be the colours, or maybe the weather, but this project has really piqued my creative juices. I'm thinking a wrap, missoni home style, in another colourway of this yarn.

I am gobsmacked! That is tremendous! Love the contrasts of both colour and weight.
"Block like a middle age trophy wife's face." Ha, ha, ha! I love the scarf, and am quite fond of the Jawoll Magic yarn.
Have you seen the Missoni Home towels? I like very, very much.
It's gorgeous & the mix of colors is fantastic. That's a really creative shawl.
When I initially saw the knitting of this shawl I wasn't too taken with the colour mix, but now ... it is truly fantastic.
