Don't lose your head



Not one of the British Museum's conventional sculpture classifications, but one I found quite amusing anyway.

















(One of these is actually from the Louvre. Do you know which one?)

I'm home now, but I'm posting in denial for a week or so. Hope you don't mind ...

The second one! Nike of Samathrace? I loved that sculpture... I thought it better than Milo's Venus.

Don't you love how they have the little signs saying "Head in Athens". Cracked me up

i think its the second one too. only cos im pretty sure i saw all the rest in the BM! im awfully glad youre home. i will pretend we're both in paris when i see you next!

It's the second one, "Winged Victory". One of my favourite pieces in the Louvre.

Glad to see you home again. It must have been amazing!
