No good deed goes unpunished

Title has nothing to do with post. It's my Christmas sentiment.

I haven't talked about my knitting for a little while, not because I'm not doing it, but because I've picked up the Medeterranean Shawl again, and it's beautiful, but not the most exciting thing to photograph and talk about. I'll give you a quick precis -

knit a huge diamond shaped shawl.

Pick up one side and knit a huge rectangular stole.

Do that again.

Now you're about to start the actual knitting.

Pick up around the huge stole, the diamond, the other huge stole and the rest of the diamond and knit a border equivalent to twice the knitting of the biggest shawl you've ever made.

According to the book you should then 'do a modest but triumphant jig'. I won't be jigging for some time though, as I've just started the first huge stole, having taken a year to finish the huge diamond.

See? I told you it was boring.

To distract me, and perhaps because it's Christmas - I made an amigurumi elephant. Here she is settling into her new surrounds.

At first they didn't know what to make of her.

Then she met someone. She couldn't beleive how much they had in common.

It really was love at first sight.

And they lived happily ever after.

The end.

(This yarn is Brooklyn Tweed Shelter. It's great yarn.)

So I gave you a white elephant? Hmmm. I like the elephant - what pattern is it. Is crocheting it a complete nightmare?
